Lite/Free version Installation

Event calendar plugin includes 2 versions Free/Lite and PRO/Paid.
Both versions have their own way for installation, deactivation and update.
In order to install Lite/Free version, follow the instruction below:

    Go to Dashboard of your WordPress website > select Plugins and click ‘Add New’

  2. 2

    Search for “GrandWP Event calendar”

  3. 3

    After detecting the desired plugin, click “Install Now”

  4. 4

    After the installation is completed click “Activate Plugin”

  5. 5

    The plugin appears in the “Dashboard” sidebar menu. Now the plugin is ready to be used

Please, note that in the case of possible updates you will get a notification in your WordPress website Dashboard (Plugins section)

Use this method of installation in the case, if you wish to install PRO/Paid version.
If you already have been using Free/Lite version of plugin, you will need to deactivate and delete it and then install zip file with Pro version. (By deactivation, you are not going to lose any data. If you are willing to erase whole data, then uninstall the plugin)

PRO/Paid version Installation

If you already have been using plugin Free/Lite version, deactivate and delete it and then install zip file with Pro version.
(By deactivation, you are not going to lose any data. If you are willing to erase whole data, then uninstall the plugin).

    Go to Dashboard> Plugins and click “Deactivate” on the plugin you wish to update.

    After plugin is deactivated, click “Delete.” No data will be lost.
    After your plugin is deleted, go to Plugins>Add New.

    “Upload” file from the top of the page.

  4. 4

    Click “Choose File” and choose “zip” file you have downloaded from your Grandwp.com account Click “Install Now”

  5. 5

    After installation is finished,“Activate” the plugin. The plugin is ready to be used.
    Use this method for any extension you want to update (or install for the first time).

Note that the same actions need to be done to UPGRADE existing PRO/Paid version to latest available.

Plugin install/update via FTP

If the standard upload methods of the plugin installation are not working for you, try to install via FTP.

    Find a FTP client

    Download the ZIP file from WordPress.org

  3. 3

    Extract ZIP file directory to your PC

  4. 4

    Upload the newly extracted directory to /wp-content/plugins/

  5. 5

    The plugin is ready to be activated from the website dashboard.
    After the activation is completed, plugin appears in the “Dashboard” sidebar menu.

Creating an event

Event calendar has the following submenus:

Event

Set the following values from the General Options to create the event:

  1. 1

    Event duration can be set to All Day if the event lasts all day

  2. 2

    Set both Start day and Time

  3. 3

    Set both End day and Time

  4. 4

    Mention Timezone of the event

  5. 5

    Check the Repeat checkbox if the event is

  6. 6

    Choose how frequent the event repeats from Rate section

  7. 7

    Set Cost of the event if there is any

  8. 8

    Set Currency of the event payment

  9. 9

    Mention currency symbol position (Before/After)

Venue

Event location can be set both from Event submenu Venue section and from Venue submenu

    Google API key
    After inserting Google API key,
    Google Map will be displayed on the Front-End

    Location
    Add already created locations from this section

  3. 3

    +Add venue
    New locations can be created from here

Event Categories

Easily add categories by clicking on Add New Category.
The following details can be added to the category:

    Name
    Type how it should appears in the Back-End

  2. 2

    Slug
    Slug stands for URL-friendly version of the name.
    Usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.

    Parent
    Created categories appear in Parent section

  4. 4

    Description
    A description can be set to the category

Event Tag

Create tags, add to the events to sort them
The following details can be added to the Tag:

    Name
    Type how it should appears in the Back-End

  2. 2

    Slug
    Slug stands for URL-friendly version of the name.
    Usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.

    Parent
    Created tags appear in Parent section

    Description
    A description can be set to the tag

Calendar

Use this option to create beautiful calendar which will emphasize your website uniqueness
To start with, you can choose a Category from the created ones. The categories are listed under the Calendar Settings

    Event category
    Choose event category to assign to Calendar project

  2. 2

    Calendar view
    Choose how calendar is displayed in the Front-End.
    Plugin offers the following view formats:
    Day, Week, Month, Year, Sidebar
    If All views are chosen, site visitors have an option to easily switch from one view to another

    Theme
    A default and 12 stunning event calendar themes are available

Day View

Check how the event calendar day view is displayed at Front-End

    Use event calendar day view if you want to display multiple events,
    which are going to take place during a day and display them in one calendar list

    The whole day is divided hourly in this view

    All-day events are displayed at the top of the table

  4. 4

    Use Search tool to find the events by keywords

    Use Date Picker to change the current day

Week View

Check how the event calendar week view is displayed at Front-End

    Use week view to display most important events,
    which will take place during the week

  2. 2

    The week is divided by the days from the top
    and by the hours on the left side

    Current Week number is also displayed on the Front-End (CW12)

    Use Search tool to find the events by keywords

    Use Date Picker to change the current day

Month View

Check how the event calendar month view is displayed at Front-End

    Use week view to display existing events of the whole month

    Weekdays are displayed on the top of the table,
    the month days are inside the day box

Year View

    Choose Year view to display all created events at once

    Year view displays current year months
    Events are marked as colorful bullets

Event Organizer

With the help of this option, mention who is the organiser of the event that is going to take place

    Email

If phone number is not entered correctly, the “Invalid number” message is displayed.
If number is correct, “Valid” message is displayed

Event Venue

Create locations from venue submenu to display the exact location of the event that is planned

    A valid API key must be entered
    to display the Google Map in the Front-End

  2. 2

    Put the marker to show the location.
    It can be done by searching the location Address
    and by inserting Latitude and Longitude values
